JD’s Driving Academy is a South Australian operated and owned driving school based in Adelaide.
We are government accredited and authorized Heavy Vehicle Motor Driving Instructor with more than 10 years experience. Our highly qualified and friendly driving instructors guarantees your success to build driving skills.
Our aim is to ensure a stress free, informative and friendly experience. All lessons are planned to suit requirements of students as we believe in your success and a value for your time and money. Thus, providing driving needs for the wider community.
I have been teaching car driving training from last six years but now I am proud to announce that I am able to expand my company and Now I am qualified to teach truck drivers training from now on words. In truck drivers training, I am providing training for MR (Manual) and HR (Auto, Synchromesh, Non-synchromesh).
I am proud to announce that I have purchased my own Heavy Rigid Truck and now offer personalised, quality Training in ISUZU 18 speed non-synchromesh(Road Ranger).
My rates are competitive and reflective of individual requirements and experience of each student.

ACCREDITTION / SKILLS

HEAVY VEHICLE SAFETY:
- Safety takes priority over everything else
- Heavy Vehicles are very heavy
- Remember, it takes trucks up to four times longer to stop
- Know what to do in an accident
- Regular maintenance and inspections
- Learn to read the roads and traffic lights
- Maintain good records
- Avoid fatigue
- Plan for your drive
HR – Class

Motor vehicles authorised to be driven
- A motor vehicle authorised to be driven by a licence of a preceding class.
- A motor vehicle (other than an articulated motor vehicle or a special purpose vehicle) with three or more axles and a GVM greater than 8 tonnes.
- A motor vehicle included above towing a single trailer (other than a semi-trailer) with a GVM not greater than 9 tonnes, subject to the combination mass limits fixed under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (South Australia).
- An articulated bus with three or more axles and a GVM greater than 8 tonnes.
- A special purpose vehicle with three or more axles and a GVM greater than 15 tonnes.
May tow:
- any farm implements
- any trailer with a GVM not exceeding 9 tonnes provided it is within the GCM of the towing vehicle.
Driver’s licence must be carried if driving a vehicle over 4.5 tonne GVM.
Minimum driving experience
Must have held a class C for at least two years or a class LR or MR for at least one year.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1) Appointment times must be adhered to. Please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time. Failure to attend or late attendance may mean loss of fees paid or you will be charged for that time.
2) Cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance otherwise full cancellation fees will apply.
3) You must produce your current SA Drivers license. (Remember, no license means no training or test). Cancellation fees will apply.
4) If you are required to wear Optical Prescription glasses while driving, please make sure you have them with you.
5) Please ensure that appropriate footwear is worn on the day, e.g., closed in shoes, (No thongs, slip ons, bare feet or high heels)
6) You must ensure that you Blood Alcohol Level (BAC) is 0.00g% while driving a Heavy goods Vehicle.
7) You must make sure that you are not affected by any other drugs, intoxicants or any other substance that may affect your ability to drive a heavy vehicle safely.
8) You must comply with all instructions given to you by your instructor.
9) You must drive to the best of your ability in a safe and legal manner, adhere to all road rules that are mandatory under the Road Traffic Act.
10) Rude manners, abusive language and violence will not be tolerated.
